What is this Tilt?

"Tilt" is a new series based on fictional poker players in Las Vegas. Basic plot, villain (sort-of) beat villain (sort-of); beat-villain now seeking revenge on winner-villain by recruiting a team of young poker players to conspire against the winner-villain, who also cheats by using confederates, etc. It is on ESPN weekly. Started Jan 13, I believe, and rerun several times thruout the week on ESPN and ESPN2.

(Canadians can get it by pirating, I mean "testing" DISHNETWORK! Or so I'm told. Oh, but only for educational purposes.)

There are more details on espn.com, but it is a fictional drama on a cable sports network about some shady characters living by playing poker in Vegas.

It is also generally considered to be REALLY terrible.

The commercials for the 2nd episode (Thursday night) make it appear that it will not be getting any better.

It's by the guys who did the movie Rounders which many of us thought was a pretty worthwhile film. So some of us (me included) are a bit confused how these same guys who did such a decent movie can produce a TV show on a similar theme that is SOOOO freaking terrible.

I mean, it is truly awful writing and acting, etc etc.
