Default PP 1000 NL tptk, call or not

i had about 800 on the table. villian had me covered
i had ak on sb.
on BB is maniac, villain just sat down.
my image is pretty TAG i think.

preflop- 6 handed max, folded to villain in mp raised to 35, i called and bb called.

flop- ace63 rainbow
i bet 100, bb folds, villain called

turn- 4
i bet 300, villain raised all in.
call or not?

i felt like he might have aq or ak and surely dint put me on AK.
i looked at the board, the only thing i thought he could ve is AK too, what do u guys think?

getting better than 3:1 on your money I think you have to call. If you weren't going to call an AI you shouldn't have played the hand like you did. Having said that, you built a huge pot out of position there.

I like a check on the flop to see what he does. As you played it I think you're splitting at best.

Against an aggressive villian, I like check/calling down here, leading the next street if he checks behind at any point.

result- he had 2 pairs, 64.

do you guys think i should ve bet more on the flop? raise preflop? check raise the flop?

few hands later, i had AK again on bb, dis time i reraised the user and he went all in for 400, i called and he had 77, turn and river 7s, had quad.

so yah, for the first hand, if i reraised preflop, i could ve won, and for the 2nd hand, if i called preflop, i would ve won too (flopped a king)

i m wondering if i m just bein result oriented, what do you guys think? should i just call with ak preflop? or reraise?

The maniacs i've experienced are far less likely to call your preflop then play a big pot against you with a good hand (AK,AQ) as they would with a crappy hand that hit big. I would probably call the allin like a donk but if i actually followed through on my convictions, i would notice that every time i called a maniac's allin just because he's a maniac, i get burned by a low twopair or a straight and hate myself for it.
