Default rake question

I play in a local $10/20 game that takes 10% of the first $70 up to $7 in total rake. So, for example, if there is an EP raise and an LP player and both blinds call, the pot going into the flop is reduced to $73. That seems pretty damned steep. I would appreciate it if someone would let me know how it compares to the rake structure at the $10/20 Mirage and/or $15/30 Bellagio tables.

4 max, not sure if its 10% to 4 max or staggered. FW does 2 from the flop, 1 at 70 and 1 at 140 for 10/20, but if no one calls a flop bet, they only take a buck.

That rake is outrageous. I play at the Commerce where it's $1 drop before the flop and $3 more after. I consider that high from back home where it was $2+1 max with a no-flop-no-drop policy. Dropping $7 in a 10 game is ridiculously high.

I have played in several of the Houston 10/20 games and I will tell you this......watch the dealers closely they will usually cut more than the "officially" announced amount. Price you pay to play those illegal games. Hope the ones you are playing at least give you free food and drinks.

They do provide food (real meals, not just finger food). The dealers are quality at this place and they rake the proper amount. I keep a close eye on 'em. The dealers also make mad cash from tips. Some of the old codgers who play in the game will tip $5 to $10 on a hand. Crazy. Anyway, I'm done with that game. It's insanely soft, but the rake sucks all the money off the table. I guess I'm going to have to go back to lower limit unraked home games or get myself adjusted to playing online again (even though I've grown accustomed to/spoiled with live play). Thanks for all of the responses!

Default Mirage rake

6/12 at the Mirage is $1 at 12, 24, 48, and 80 max 4

I THINK at 10/20 it's $1 at 20, 40, 80, and 120 max 4

Most places on the strip with a jackpot rake $3 max with a $1 jackpot drop.
