I heard about the Arthur one, it's a bit of a hike for me.

You may want to check the name you choose with the KCBS to make sure it's not already in use.

We're close to Chicago (like yourself), and they decided last weekend to make the move down to Arthur. I think it's 4-hour drive.

They know about the database, and some of the names they like have been run through (and luckily haven't been taken).

I wanted to do my first one this fall, but it looks like it has to wait until next season. Where is the competition, and what kind of smoker do you use?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not the one that does the smoking. My brother has a vertical smoker with a door on the front. My friend has a vertical smoker with a lid that can be removed on the top, as well as a larger version.

The smoking event is taking place in a small community in Arthur, IL.

[/ QUOTE ]

that's pretty redundant.

gl sirs, and the fighting grillini is the clear winner

If you go with them, post a report. I got turned on to smoking after I found out that real home smoking will taste better than anything you get from any BBQ joint.

They may bristle at Grillini, since BBQ'ing and grilling are technically very different. Pretty sweet name though.
