Re: The Bellagio-Mirage-Wynn Middle Limit War Begins
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Wynn's computerized waiting lists and vastly better comps (according to what I read in another thread) should give them a good foundation for providing better service to the middle limit crowd. [/ QUOTE ] I dont get the value of the whole comps thing, especially at mid limits. Example 1: Touristy 30/60 game. You get rivered a few times to many though, and decide to call it a day -2000. On your way out of the room the floorman says "thanks for playing, heres $6, go buy yourself a sandwich" Example 2 : Juicy 30/60 game. The deck hits you good a few times, and you cash out after 4 hours +3000. On your way out of the room the floorman says "Nice play Mr. Heres $6, go buy yourself a coffee and pastry" [/ QUOTE ] Oddly I concur. If the room was catering to locals, then I'd see great value for the comps to be installed. Since it in theory is not... then what's the point of allowing them to exist? Bellagio and Mirage are both owned by the same company, MGM Mirage. [/ QUOTE ] To answer Daryn, Wynn started Mirage Corp, which built Mirage and Bellagio and others, and was bought by MGM several years ago. EDIT: Fixed for my retarded reading comprehension. |

Re: The Bellagio-Mirage-Wynn Middle Limit War Begins
The Mirage lost their 40-80 and the 20-40 was on life support when I left at 8:00pm. The Wynn went from one 40-80 when you were there to three by 11:00pm. I talked with about 12 Mirage regular 40 players before I left and all agreed to continue meeting at Wynn.

If it equates to terrible player, I certainly hope so.
Besides, the 40 players are an entirely different animal than the regular 10 and 20 players. |

Re: The Bellagio-Mirage-Wynn Middle Limit War Begins
The 20-40 Mirage game was not on "life support" today by any means. In fact, the dayshift grinders ain't movin' to Wynn. As Dynasty notes, I saw 2 15-30 games and one 30-60 at WYnn around noon yesterday. Not a 20-40 player in sight. Perhaps evening action will be different, but I suspect the 20-40 stays at Mirage.

Re: The Bellagio-Mirage-Wynn Middle Limit War Begins
On early Saturday night, Wynn was hurting for mid-limit games. Wynn had two 15-30's and one 40-80. Otherwise, they had just interest lists with a few people's names on them.
Considering the Wynn casino is packed, they aren't doing as well as I thought was possible. When you walk through the casino, it's hard not to bump into somebody every five yards. But, the poker room had some empty tables. Meanwhile, the Mirage had a somewhat typical two 10-20's and two 20-40's. The Bellagio had four 15-30's and four 30-60's. I'd say Wynn is off to a slow start. But, of course, it's only been a few days. |

Re: The Bellagio-Mirage-Wynn Middle Limit War Begins
Is this one of those things where if they don't start strong they won't start at all or can slowly build up steam?
