[ QUOTE ]
I think I might have gotten lucky and scared MP1 into folding the best hand.

If he check-raised me on the turn, I'd have to fold. If he only called and checked to me on the river, I'd probably just check it through.

[/ QUOTE ]

In this hand you risked 2BB postflop to gain 1BB.
If he has the Q you risk 2BB and lose them.
If he has an ace you lose 2BB minimum.
*unless you spike a winner.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with calling down.

Edit: Didn't realize SB was yet to act on flop.

Glad you said so. Alot of hands villain could be bluffing with we would really like to fold. To everyone who hates the flop raise: if villain had a good hand wouldn't he at least think about checkraising, and if he had trips wouldn't he at least think about slowplaying? Stop n gos mean crap way more often then they mean monsters, hero played this one fine.

I don't think you played it poorly at all. The pot is big, the flop isn't awful for you, and you have a chance to face the SB with two cold and get HU with position for the rest of the hand.

I'd check behind on the river if called on the turn.
