Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
I'm making the river call for one more BB in this pot.
The intersting decision comes on the flop and turn. How agressive postflop have you seen him, do you believe he's got a 9? If so you're drawing too thin to continue. |

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
This is a tough one. There aren't all that many playable hands with a 9 in them the way there are for A-T. He probably would have raised all the bigger pairs. So my guess is that he also has a pocket pair and it's probably lower than yours. He could have pocket 4s I guess, but that's still low probability. I would call down. I think you are ahead enough of the time to play this hand to the river.

If you call the flop raise you are making the committment to call down.

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
FWIW, most players would (right or wrong) not raise this flop and blow away the field if they did in fact have a 9 or 44, especially with no flush draw out there and no straight possibilities.
If this player did do that, make a note. My suspicion is that you're against a pocket pair or 4x. |

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
In this specific hand, playing as villian and if I had a 9, I would think just calling the flop would be the right thing to do, since as you've mentioned there are no flop/straight draws to worry about. The plan would be to then raise the flop better on the turn.

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
is MP1 the type to play any A ? If so he probably has A4, less often A9. Is he the type to call this board with A high? Since there were no raises PF he may think he is good. Those are the hands I see him on. thoughts?

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
Against some, but few opponents, I just fold the flop. Occasionally I will take your flop line with the intention of betting nearly any turn and folding to a raise. A turn raise usually means your toast IMO and and I'd like to ensure that some bets are going in when and if I have the best hand.

Re: How\'s This Middle Pair Look?
In this situation, I like to check and hope to check raise a late position bet. With 6 opponents at this low level you usually have no idea what you're up against, so I'd like to get everyone to fold if possible at all.
