Default Overplaying AA?

Level six $33 MTT. Last hand I won all in with AKs. Picked up AA in the BB now.

I pushed the flop because of the heart and straight draw potential. However, was a push necessary? Is a pot sized bet more appropriate? I want to get the most out of my winners, and obviously I shouldn't be paranoid of draws and prevent myself from picking up more chips.

Thanks for your feedback.

You don't have to push to price out drawing hands. I bet 2000-2400ish and push any turn. FWIW, I don't like your PF miniraise with AA. I think 2000-2500 is better and I like 2500 given his 4.5xBB raise PF. That way you have about t5000 in the pot and 4K behind and a push may be more enticing to call.

you'll save yourself a lot of money (or rather, pick up a lot more money) if you stop worrying about flush and straight draws when you're heads up around this level and later on.

Thanks guys. I figured I was overplaying that and not getting my chips worth out of it. Appreciate the help as always.

A push isn't bad. If he calls a pot sized bet, you are pot committed on the turn anyway.

I totally agree with this. A bigger preflop raise would have made a flop push the only option to consider. The preflop minraise also smells too much like a monster to me.
