Default 10/20 Tc9c

hey all,

10 handed IIRC, typical slighty loose slightly passive 10/20 players here - your standard 22-25ish VP$IP 5-9% tot-A 1.5ish type. anyone like/dislike this? I was reading HPFAP the other day which inspired my flop line. then on the turn I figure I picked up outs, and he'll fold a lot of better hands. then on the river, he's definitely calling an ace or a pair if he got this far with it IMO.

I'm BB with T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

MP1 limps, MP3 raises, everyone folds and I call along with MP1.

flop 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I bet, MP1 folds, MP3 calls

turn K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I bet, MP3 calls

river K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check, he bets, I fold

Id rather c.r the flop rather than leading it. How would you play a King or an 8 there?

most 8's are CR's for me, I will CR a lot of K's as well, but I could bet-3bet something like KQ, or any two pair/set. this is also not a board where I'm likely to get raised by a non-pair IMO.

checkraising probably has him lay down on the turn more often though, very good point. do you ever think this player lays down immediately? (A9 or 77 or QJ, for example?)

I like the flop and turn line a lot more in an unraised pot.

I don't like the flop bet. Might as well let MP1 and MP2 bet, then call, and get more value in.

Turn bet is okie dokie. If you are reraised by someone who might take the "K" as a sign you don't have one and knows you are committed, you risk putting two bets in. But, player is passive, so you're line for him just calling is fine. Anyone advocate a check/raise here with a little more fold equity? Might be sexy, you're getting 13 - 17 outs going into the river and if you hit, you're now getting more value too. Kinduv a risky play, but thought I'd bring it up for discussion.

River is fine. You're beat, let it go.

yeah the nonstandard part was the donking into the field in a raised pot like this, I'd semibluff this all day with no PF raise.

but everything I wanted to accomplish with the bet I could sell better with a c/r IMO as derek said, and against this player I'm less likely to get 3-bet.
