Looks like a good call on the river. I think if SB has straight, he would lead the turn as well. UTG looks like he just missed some big draw, maybe T9h?

Because it's the SB, I'm pretty sure I'd fold (this is not advice, just opinion). I couldn't put UTG on a 7, so if he had bet, I'd be far more inclined to call.

I understand your second question, which leads me to think of a counter question. Are you implying that people are bluffing on the river with missed flush draws that often?

Anyhow, it looks like you're putting SB on the following range.

7x
8x
or bluff.

So if I go by the textbook rule of thumb, 10% bluff, 45% 7, 45% 8, this looks like a call. Pokerwise at least.

Looking at the hand through SB's eyes, I just can't see him betting anything but a busted heart draw or a straight here, and th player that bets his hearts first to act on that river is EXTREMELY rare. 8x just isn't likely, he'd be more than willing to see a cheap showdown. I called, but honestly I think this is one hand that I should have gotten away from.

I can find a fold against some players there, but you are probably better off calling against most regulars - even if you are mildly -EV on the call, at least they won't try to push you off every hand you raise when a scary hits.

I dont think he would necessarily lead the turn. You check raised the flop so maybe he thinks youll bet again and He can come over the top? I hate the cr with a strong hand but for some reason people do it all the time.

I can see 2 pair + betting out there alot when the turn is checked through. Sure it's a bad bet, but I've seen it several times before.

Check-raising on the flop and turn only work on over aggressive fish.
