Default For Krishan - I checked the turn with a set

Opponent is 37/21/2 and is very aggressive in pots I've seen him in, but we haven't tangled yet as he's been getting out of the way when I raise.

10/20 5 handed.

terrible UTG folds, I raise 5h 5c, aggro button 3-bets me, everyone drops and I call

flop is 5d 6d Th
check-bet-call

turn 3c
check-bet-raise

could I have made more over the long run with another line given the player?

Yes. The flop against aggo players is like foreplay. No body really takes it seriously. If you lead a ragged flop like this he'll raise everytime. Then you can cr the turn. Alternatively you can lead, call a raise and go for the donk-3-bet which is one of the most glorious lines in all 2+2.

krishan - is he more or less likely to 3-bet my turn c/r with an overpair if I c/call or bet the flop? I'm not being rhetorical, I'm asking to learn

I c/r this flop. If he 3 bets then call and bet/raise the turn.

My second favorite line is to bet/call the flop and then bet/raise the turn.

I'm not sure. I'd guess he would do this about 90% as often. If a LAG has an overpair and you have a set, it's gold nearly every time. A TAG might recognize that since you bet/called the flop, a turn 3-bet is out of line but most LAGs aren't familiar enough with this line.

also, will he still bet the turn with, say, AQ if the flop action is bet call and then I check? I think he checks more often there, but maybe that's ok because he calls the river. and we can exploit him with draws if he's willing to give free turn cards to a flop donk like that.

EDIT: of course this could hurt us if he has a FD and will take the freebie. so I suppose we have to bet-3bet it a lot on the turn as well.

Given you read he will never check the turn w/AQ. If he'll bet the turn after you check/call, he will bet it after you bet/call. Now this gets into why I hate checking the turn w/a set. It sucks when he checks behind and folds the river. It also is a point in the bet/call, bet line. I think given your read a turn cr is fine.

I guess on the turn the question is whether he bets it UI more than he calls a bet UI with it, since he's drawing dead. if we knew he has overcards, then we should have fastplayed the flop but our turn action should have the same 0EV. I will do some weighted EV calcs and post them.

I usually lead the flop, call the flop raise and check raise the turn. Exception: if an A falls then i lead turn and hope for a 3-bet (that is because many LAGS will check behind the turn if they dont have an A OR bet/fold to my turn checkraise. So if he has an A he is raising the turn or river probably or if he does not have the A he MIGHT call down). If i have not be involved with that player in many pots i might consider the "normal" lead- three bet flop and lead turn.
