After heading over to Best Buy, I was not so impressed with the DLP models compared to the LCD's. The picture quality seems very dependent on viewing angle. I also do have a small apartment, and while I won't be wall mounting, size, and the fact that I might want to move in a year or so, is little bit of an issue.

Right now it's looking like the 40" Samsung is in the lead.

Wait 2 weeks and see what the sony 40 inch lcd goes for. It is the same screen but most people seem to prefer sonys processing to samsungs. MSRP of the sony is about the same as Samsung.

Man, this thing is big. It will take some getting used to.

I wound up buying from a local retail chain, who matched the web price from J&R Music World.

After reading lots of horrendous reviews on all of the places that this TV for a really low price, I paid a few hundred more and went the safe route.
