Strategy Question on Starting Stack Size
How should your strategy change based on the amount of chips you start a tournament with?
I seem to have trouble playing in MTT's with anything less than 1500 chips. How should my strategy change when your starting stack size is 1000? or 800? Early on id say with less starting chips tighten up. With less chips you dont have the luxury of limpiing in with marginal hands or suited connectors because you can wash away a quarter of your stack limping in to often when u start with 800. Tighten yourself up and play only premium hands untill the blinds begin to increase so theres a lot more dead money in every pot.

It's not really how many chips you start with, but rather more a question of how deep the stacks are in relation to the blinds.
I would much rather play in a tournament that started with 1000 in chips with blinds of 10-20 than a tourney that gave you 1500 chips and started with blinds of 25-50. As far as adjustments....the deeper the stacks, the more implied odds there are. In general, you can play more hands, but have to be able to get off more hands postflop as well. Deep stacks allow more play and allow the better player to make the weaker players make bigger mistakes.
