Default Look over this comp build..

Hey, I'm finally sick and tired of my system's problems and want to get a brand new one. I don't know much about anything, this is all from maybe 1 hour of research so I'd like some opinions on this build. Also- can someone verify if everything in this system will work together (does PSU fit w/everything?) Also- if you know a better item/cheaper item then let me hear it. I just plan to run games pretty good.

Mobo- ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD $68
Processor- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB
Video Card- connect3D 3038 Radeon X800GTO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card (VIDEO CARD + PROCESSOR = $321)
Memory- Patriot Signature Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System
HD- HITACHI Deskstar 7K80 HDS728080PLA380 -0A30356 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s (THIS + MEMORY = $110)
PSU- Rosewill RV500S-2 ATX 2.01 500W $50
CDRW/DVDRW- LITE-ON Beige IDE DVD Burner Model SOHW-1693S $38

I also got some Arctic Silver 5 paste and ZALMAN VF700-CU 2 Ball VGA COOLER for my video card since I heard you can overclock it nicely.

Total is around $620 before tax & shipping, almost 700 with.

The only thing I'm missing is a case- could someone reccomend a cheap case (I don't need rainbow neon lights spinning) Do I need a certain case for a mobo? Sorry I've built only 2 computers and someone else got the parts for me. Anything else I'm missing totally or something I need for o/c'ing my proc and video card? Thanks a lot!

Unless you're playing a lot of 3D video games, the video card is a waste of money.

The Antec Sonata (II) is my favorite case. I have two of them, and I buy them for all of my clients. It's quiet, stylish, and easy to use.

I bought the Sonata for my aunts machine I built her a few months ago. It's a nice case and easy to work with.

Is everything else compatible though? Are they all good components? Anything that's cheaper/better?

Looks like everything is compatible. I just got that video card a few weeks ago; it's a beast. If you get Sapphire's build of the card, the x800GTO2, you can unlock it to perform $150 faster . More info.

Everything looks good. I don't know anything about Patriot ram though, so I'd recommend going with a bigger player in the game, like Crucial or Kingston.

Also, I found that mobo on newegg for $43. What store are you going through right now?

I just built a computer using this case. I highly recommend it. It's easy to work with, super quiet, looks great, and everyone says it has a good power supply too. It's so quiet that I can't even hear my computer running even with nothing else in my apartment on. My hearing isn't great, but I was impressed nonetheless.
