A crying call is what that is, but I call there too. It sucks because villain played his hand exactly like a king and nothing else but the outside chance of a jack.

I call there but I think it's wrong. Since your kicker doesn't play and you only split with an ace, your only chance is that he has a busted flush draw. I really don't think a reasonable player donks with a Jack because he thinks you'll fold an Ace.

Is this 3-bet on the flop standard? Are you taking a free card if you don't improve, or are you pounding again on the turn?

I'd call. There are enough donks out there to make it almost standard, unless your read says otherwise.
