The IRC channel has way too many power-obsessive dicks to be of any use for poker content. Some of the ops there kick-ban random people for fun.

I don't mean to dismiss Emmitt's suggestion, but I do believe that AIM is not the solution on a forum-wide basis. The IRC chat room is fantastic (even though I rarely visit), its the best solution going so far. At the same time I wish to encourage everyone to post their tough hands here because AIM and chat room usage only lowers the value of Small Stakes, which brings us back to the reason why JasonT made his post in the first place.

On a related note I use AIM daily to discuss hands while playing. I need to stop doing that as much, and get my focus back to this forum. But one or two of you listed here so far will receive an IM from me for sure just cause I wanna say hi

I really don't think AIM is going to do a whole lot to clean up the forums. The best I can say it will do is get more posters in contact with each other (although many are already apparently) and perhaps enhance the sense of community here (whatever that means). It would be good to talk to more 2+2ers though, so my sn is Mahanic.

belloc3 on AIM, chesterbelloc on Yahoo.

I regularly discuss hands with a small group of players (well, mostly just rmarotti), and I find it helpful. As many have said, I'm not confident that it will have much effect on the signal/noise ratio in the forums, but it could be a nice supplement.

IRC really is the solution for this, but it really depends on self-policing of the channel so it doesn't become either a cesspool on the one hand, or an occasion for powertripping ops on the other. (I'm not saying the 2+2 channel is either one, by the way. But I've been using IRC for over 15 years, and I know very well the tendencies of channels to drift to these extremes.)

Cunha Wins.

I like the idea. Many times Jason has imed me with a hand before posting it, just to gauge the interest/difficulty behind a hand. It works.
