Default bubble bully

$100 game on PokerRoom.

200/400 blinds. UTG has 235 chips

UTG folds, button ($2,855, no notes but seems a bit weak/tight) min raises to 800. SB folds. I ($7,280) push with T9o. Thoughts?

Hmm... intriguing. Originally, I thought this play was being made on the bubble, in which case, I love it. But when ITM, to a weak tight player, I'd rather just smooth call here and throw out a bet on the flop if you feel inclined to make a move. This way you won't double up Villain if he woke up with a hand.

Interesting, but I don't do it, because I expect to get spite-called or called here, and often, too. Still, if you've got a good enough read (and I don't know what that is), this is pretty nice.

You think people will risk going out on the bubble when they can virtually gurantee and ITM finish, often?

Considering people can suck at poker, and people who minraise 1/4th of their stack are generally in the former, yes.

Still, it seems like this Villain is the type of idiot that thinks "I don't want to bust, so I'll just minraise my KJs and fold to a raise."

Ilya was just talking about this; how people should be tight but aren't in these kind of situations. Play the player, not the stacks.

Default is to push here, of course.
