Default Greatest Final Four Ever?

Minh Ly - consistent very high stakes professional poker player.

Layne Flack - multiple WSOP bracelet winner. Highly respected pro.

Scotty Nguyen - Main Event WSOP winner and poker legend.

Doyle Brunson- poker hall of famer and legend.

Was there ever a greater final four? Not counting by invitation only tournaments.

Best show ever. You've gotta love Layne Flack goofing on Doyle while getting owned by him. Not even ESPN could ruin this one.

yeah it might be nice to have a couple more high stakes short handed events. seems the pros really play better in these spots.

The final four of the Season 1 Foxwoods WPT was Howard Lederer, Layne Flack, Andy Bloch, and Phil Ivey. The final four of the Season 1 Bellagio WPT was Gus Hansen, John Juanda, Freddy Deeb, and John Hennigan. That said, this tournament totally ruled, and I'm not saying either of the above are decisively better. They just come to mind.

As Sklansky pointed out in this forum, the initial field of 300 was very strong.

The short-handed format probably attracted and favored LAGs like Flack and Brunson.

It made a good show, not only all the big names, but Bunson not only won, he won fairly easily.
