How exactly are you outplaying someone when you are giving him less of a chance to make a mistake against you than when you had just checked Pre-Flop?

I raise from the BB if the SB is the only limper with any hand against any opponent. If they check to me on the flop I bet. I know this isn't always the best play, but these limps from the small blind bug me. What are they about? Do they think that they'll get to see a cheap flop? No way...

[/ QUOTE ] But the way you're outplaying them is making them call when they shouldn't, not fold when they shouldn't. Without an equity edge, you're trying to make a typical micro calling station make a mistake they won't usually make.

In full ring, I always raise and bet the flop if checked to. I could look at my PT stats, but that's been highly profitable regardless of opponent down at the micros. In six max it could be a different because people expect it more, but here's my thinking (and how it could still apply) If a person limps in the small blind after everyone folded, he either A)has never heard the term "blind steal", B)does not think his hand is good enough to attempt a steal on you, C)is hoping to get lucky on the flop, or D)has AA. an open limp from the small blind is a sign of extreme weakness IMO, and should be treated accordingly. I don't think I've ever been limp-reraised from a small blind open limper. Like ever. And I raise every time. You have position throughout the hand. If you raise, you have the initiative. If you need a further read, don't look at his vpip stats, check out his went to showdown. In 6-max, a person may be more likely to go beyond the flop with nothing, and how much they'll play back is player dependant. I always raise if limped to. When people adjust to me, they may raise out of the small blind more. Usually they'll just fold the sb if they don't like their hand though. This is even better for me since I am far more sure of where I stand if they limp/call in the future. Just my .02
