You are way misinformed. Trump is near Harrah's (now called Resorts), and there's a casino in Aurora as well (though it's got a smaller card room). Both Trump & Harrah's feature tournaments pretty frequently, and you can call ahead at Harrah's to get placed for a seat within one hour of arrival. I've rarely wait more than 15 minutes for a seat, the longest it's been is about an hour.

right troy,

There's Trumps and Harrah's in East Chicago, Hollywood Casino in Aurora; there is also a Harrah's and an Ameristar in St Louis, and I know there are some in MN but I don't know how far from Illinois that is (6 hours is what I hear).

I used to play in St Louis every weekend when I lived in champaign and both harrah's and ameristar will put you on lists if you call before.

Hi Chicago Troy,

My experience is very long wait times at Harrah's, even when I have called ahead. At most they only have two $10-20 games going. I have not been to Resorts, what type of action is there?

I've been to Hollywood, which is actually closer to me. But, as far as I can remember they usually have only 4 tables and are only open on the weekdays.

I used to drive down to Tunica for games at the Horseshoe, but the hotel sucks and not much choice for food. I really like Atlantic City and Las Vegas for playing poker. Just a lot more choices.

Thanks for the info

Mark

Harrah's is now Resorts East Chicago. Same place.

My guess is you have been unlucky in your arrival times. I go there all the time and have very little wait time except on rare occasion.
