Default Saving Screen Shots?

How do you take a screen shot and save it as a .jpg file so you can upload it to imageshack.
I can save the screen by hitting [Alt] & [Print Scrn] but the only way I can save it is in word.

Instead of pasting it into Word, paste it into a graphics program. I use IrfanView for this - very lightweight (loads instantly) and free.

Hit [PrintScrn]
Fire up Windows PAINT
Edit/Paste
Save
...choose ".JPG" format.

That's all there is to it.
