Default MP3 player suggestions? (NO IPOD)

because ipod's are huge and I don't need 40 gigs.

I'm thinking of something small, and 512mb+

any experiences with brand/product would be appreciated.

The shuffle is great and I currently own 3 different players out of probably 7 or 8 I've had over the years.

512MB - $99
1GB - $149

Price is nice too.

If you want 512MB, get the Creative MuVo. I got one a while ago after a thread like this, and I love it.

I was in the same boat; I wanted an MP3 player that was small and relatively cheap (I definitely didnt need 10 or 20 or 40GB like the IPOD). I mean, I really will never need more than ~4hrs of music at a time. I did ALOT of research (I have this horrible disease where I have to look for the best deal for the best quality), and found the Cowon (JetAudio) iAudio U2 MP3 player to be top of the line. I bought it for ~$80, and have been very pleased with it. It has nice interface so you can just drag and drop (you dont need any special software, though it does come with software), and excellent sound. It charges when you connect to your USB port and lasts ~20hrs. The other 2 that I was looking at that were up there were iRiver 790 and the Creative MuVo TX.
