How come you've been thinking of taking up poker for over a year now? And why didn't you learn to use the search function a year ago after you posted this?

How much time does JakeTheBake spend memorizing every question that has ever been asked, reading new questions, hoping against hope that some poor sap commits the mortal sin of asking a question that was already addressed, so he can once again wag his finger and tell the guy to use the search function? I swear I've seen him do it a hundred times. I mean, take this question. I can see if the guy was asking for a review of the book, but how hard was would it have been to just say "Borders?" Lighten up.

Getting Started In Holdem, you can order it right from this web site. I hope it doesn't take a year to decide to buy the book.

I'd start with a dictionary.

Seriously though, "Getting Started in Holdem" is clearly the way to go.

If it's texas hold'em that you want to play (which is probably the case), then Getting Started in Hold'em is probably a good place to start.
