I played these for several hours when I was out in Vegas in early June, and the steep juice is mostly compensated for by the horrendous play of your opponents. I didn't know that the "missing" 5% went to staff after the first one (which I won after offering a 70/30 chop) when even stacked HU, so I tipped another $20. The next three (chop, 2nd, chop), I toked a $5 at the end, expecting other "winners" to do the same -- few did.

It should be noted that despite all the "pitfalls," SNG sunday is extremely popular. Last sunday was like all day with one 15 minute break and overtime, non-stop dealing of hold'em ring games or SNGs. More cardrooms should certainly follow suit. The stratosphere is one that has sort of followed suit, but perhaps gone one better, in that they will run a sit and go anytime that there's 10 people willing to buy-in. Their structures and juice aren't my favs, but at least they run them, when few others do.

I was there Sunday also and played (I read the OP and still fell for it). It was the worst run tourney/room I have ever seen.

I should mention that I played a 3/6 cash game the night before at Alladin that degenerated into a magoo. The room was so full (8 full tables) at 3AM that the manager said the dealers could have all the overtime they wanted. Beers were flowing, shots all around the table and i won $275. damn fine night.

I kept hearing it advertised on the piped in music/promotions at Showboat. I didn't believe it until I saw it on Harrahs website. Hey, folk Harrahs Bastardizes everything in gaming that they touch.

Harrah's KC does these satellites as well, but I think it's $110 + $40. I heard the winner got $1000 to go with the entry to the WSOP.
