I live near a Very Easy 5-10 NL game. What BR is needed?
I live near a 500 Min buy in NO MAX 5-10 game and i was wondering about the money needed to play this game.
I't s supposed to be crazy, where people go all in on hands like K9o for 2K + and someone has gone in for 3K with out looking at his cards. Ok so i am very excited to get enough money to play this very easy game. how much money should i A) buy in for B) bring to the game total (buy in plus whats in my pocket) C) have for a Bank Roll |

Re: I live near a Very Easy 5-10 NL game. What BR is needed?
A)at least 2k, or enough to cover every player at the table
B)probbaly around 5k since im sure there can be big swings in this game when ppl are going all in without looking at their cards C)i am very conservative online and use the 20xMax buyin rule, but for a game like this id be willing to play with as little as 5-10 buyins since its such a good game GL |

the answer to 1 depends on 3. I personally always bring 3 buyins to whatever game.

Re: I live near a Very Easy 5-10 NL game. What BR is needed?
The bankroll you need depends on how much you plan on buying in for, which depends on how comfortable you feel playing at that level. If the players are as bad as you say, you want to have as many of them covered when you buy in.
If the game is wild it means its going to be expensive but profitable to see flops, so you'll want (at least) in the 1k neighborhood. I'd say for a wild, live game, you need a BR of about 7k. If this is the kind of game where a lot of people are seeing raised flops, it means its probably going to be about $50 a flop, with enormous implied odds, so you really don't want to be sitting with less than 1k. You can always offer friends a piece of your action if your BR isn't where you need it. |

with a smaller bankroll, shortbuying may not be a horrible idea in this game

Re: I live near a Very Easy 5-10 NL game. What BR is needed?
Hey,
I'm a college student, but I'm spending this semester in London. I'm actually faced with your exact dilemma. There is an incredibly juicy 3-3 PL hold em game at the local casino where most stacks are around 500-1k pounds (double the numbers to get an idea in terms of American dollars). I'll usually buy in semi-short stacked (300 or so), wait for a big hand to double up, and go from there. There are actually advantages to being shortstacked initially in that people will pay you off as they assume you're just being desperate. Anyways, that strategy has worked wonders for me. I'm not sure if that place you go to has a bunch of regulars, but if it does, keep notes on them... it'll pay off. Good luck. |

I'm not sure if your question is directed to me.. if it is... it's the Grovesner Victoria Casino.
