The variance at .02/.04 is ridiculous
It's at least 100 bb's a day up or down, with 7 or 8 people seeing the flop on every hand. I have to have a flush or straight or have my set improve to a full house to run. Top pair won't hold it's own.
My solution has been to start playing a lot more speculative hands like suited connectors from any position because the pots have so many people in them. Is this correct? This variance is really getting to me. I go on rushes for 40 or 50 bb's and then lose it all plus more, and I'm pretty sure I'm playing correctly. I know that in the long run I am going to come out on top but this is really shattering my confidence. |

Re: The variance at .02/.04 is ridiculous
I would just play solid poker and eventually the results should catch up to your playing style. Seriously, a retarded monkey can beat this game over the long term. However, avoid the temptation to play stuff like 54s or JTo UTG. Solid poker will win at this level. I have been there, and I know.

Re: The variance at .02/.04 is ridiculous
Thanks for the encouragement. It's just frustrating seeing sets getting beat with so many people in the pot and someone always drawing but my pot equity has to be huge so I will come out over the long run, it's jsut getting there that is the struggle.

Re: The variance at .02/.04 is ridiculous
In my brief nano limit experience, I have found .05/.10 much more stable but just as easy as .02/.04.
When I played .02/.04, it seemed as if people capped flops for the hell of it, or to vent tilt emotion. |

Learn to deal with it now, while it's only a couple of dollars and not a couple of hundred.

That is what it is like. The pots are gigantic.

Re: The variance at .02/.04 is ridiculous
I think .05/.10 is a better learning experience. (Edit: VILLIAN'S) little brother could be spamming the raise button for all I know at .02/.04.

[ QUOTE ]
When I played .02/.04, it seemed as if people capped flops for the hell of it, or to vent tilt emotion. [/ QUOTE ] I do this at .01/.02 Sit down with $1 and raise everything. I told the table once I was going bet every chance I could with the next hand. Since I was UTG I opened with K9o. Few callers, raised behind me, I cap. Flop is 347r. The BB who who simply doesnt fold bets out (in fact I just asked him 3 hands ago if he computer even showed a fold button), I raise, everyone else folds, he 3-bets, I cap. Turn brings a T, same action. River is Q, BB bets, I raise, BB calls and shows 52o for the flopped straight. For some reason he called 2 cold preflop with that hand and then didnt 3-bet the river with the nuts, especially stupid knowing I would cap. Seeing how bad of a player BB was made it worth the 40 cents I dropped on that table. |

I also sit 0.02/0.04 when I want to play, but aren't feeling up to a long session or when I just want to LAG it up.
