Re: Share your biggest suckout win.
Stars $1/$2 Ring Game
I'm on tilt from two suckout wins where my trips get beat by gutshots on the river. I'm on the button with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP raises after three folds. All fold to me. I raise. Blinds fold. Betting is capped. Flop comes down K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] MP bets, I raise, reraise, capped. Turn is:5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Betting capped. River is 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Bet, I raise, called with "noooo" in the chat window. I show my straight to beat KKK. I go off tilt. SRH Often wrong, never in doubt. |

Griz is good
It took me awhile to remember any, but here is one:
Canterbury 6/12. Tighty McTight, straightforward player limps PF. I hold a measley Q6s and decide to raise in hopes of getting him heads up. Almost succeeded, button called as well. Flop [982]. Big blind bets. Tighty folds, and I raise. Big blind calls. Turn [5]. Check, bet, call. River [7]. Check, bet, call. BB had 98, and curiously enough my flop raise put him into a shell for some reason... Since it was only my third rotation at the table and my first showdown, I got paid off the rest of the night very well, and multiple times when I'd raise PF I'd hear "do you got queen six again?" The old double suckout
$25 NLHE at Party.
Dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the button. 3 limp, I raise to $3, blinds fold, 2 call. Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Checked to me, I push all-in. Called by 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]... I'm slightly favored at 59%. Turn: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Well.. that sucks, now I'm a 91% underdog. River: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Woot. So much more satisfying than your average suckout |

Re: Share your biggest suckout win.
It was a Royal Flush caught on the last card... Mirage 10/20 Nov. 1 1999, 7 Card Stud.
I've been trying to remember the details for years. Started with 3 black face cards... 2 flush clubs... all over cards to the board. Wish I could remember them. (Had only been playing about 1 year at that point. Caught another king I think, to make it what looked like an overpair...and 3 flush. Caught the 4th flush card. Caught another spade. On the river caught a Queen of Clubs to complete the royal. At first I thought "Oh good, got the flush!" Anyway the opponent had a hidden full house... We got into an on end raising war heads up. Because opponent was a lady I capped at about 3 raises. Raked in about $650 pot. Talk about your suck outs. Dealer says, "Want the Royal Flush Prize"? I say, "Sure, what is it?" Dealer, "Money clip and cigarette lighter". Me: "Great!" Floor brings over a pack of Mirage matches with a rubber band wrapped around it! The cards were running all over me that night. Still ended up loosing! Proof positive that better opponents can still get your money at times. Anyway, lesson learned. Went back to my usual 5/10. Didn't play 10/20 for quite some time after that. Realized I was absolutely a fish against the local 10/20 crowd at that time. Sincerely, AA |

Re: Share your biggest suckout win.
This is the worst suck out possible. In hold'em. Others may be equally as bad but none worse. I get 99 on the button. late middle positions player raises i rr. He has the rockets and smooth calls. It's a nl game 50 dollar buy in. Flop comes A 6 2 rainbow. He checks and i bet fairly small. He calls. Turn is a 9. completing the rainbow. He checks i bet big and he sets me all in. By now i knew he has to have AA but i bet so much on the turn it was only like 5 more to go all in. Anyhow i rivered another 9 to beat his aces full of 9's with quads. As for the odds of me winning. 2/47 x 1/46 = 1 out of 1081 after the flop

The most true bad beat I ever GAVE
Party 15-30
one limper in MP to me, I have KK in the CO and raise. the BB and MP call. Flop is 9 9 9 I think cool! I flopped a full house. Checked to me, I bet. BB folds, MP calls. Turn is a K. Now I have a lock! Kings full! MP checks again, I bet, he check-raises me, I reraise, he caps. Like I'm scared. River is the case king! MP bets out, we cap between us. he flips over A9s for the flopped quads beaten by perfect-perfect. And all he graciously said was 'NH'. -Scott |
