Default 25-50 NL Hand

I'm new to no-limit and wondering if I just donked away my stack on this one.

I have 6k and have both players have about 5k.

I have been the most active player at my table by far opening with all kinds of crap and stabbing at all the small pots. I have won a few nice pots. Six max table.

Button open limps, I complete in the SB w/ K8o. BB checks. Flop Kh-8h-6s. I bet the pot. BB calls. Button mini-raises. I raise the pot again and the bb folds and the button pushes after about a 5 second think.

I call.

The combination of the button open limping and making that weird mini-raise in a 3 way pot made me think that he could have hands other than a set. Do people really open limp 66, 88, or KK there very often?

At the time, I thought my call with top two here was pretty routine. I didn't really consider folding. Is that wrong? Am I going to be paying off a set almost everytime here?

Hands I thought this guy could have: lower two pair, AA, flush draw and/or straight draw, etc

Thoughts?

i think you will see AA here far more often than KK/88/66 given your description of the current table dynamics.

I'm usually a folding station and would probably be pretty happy to get all-in here. It does look a lot like a 66 but KK is very unlikely and he can only have 1 combo of 88. There's both straight and flush draws out there for hands that might limp on the button and given your image he could be "stringing you along" with a much weaker hand. Also the mini-raise could be a draw trying to take control of the hand and possibly get a free card. It does suck to lose 100+ bb's in an unraised pot but I don't think you lose much here in the long run. If you do manage to fold top 2 against a set that's money you made because you'll probably get paid off anytime the situation's reversed

JV,

Easy call and good re-pot on the flop.

i agree w/ mrD... looks like a pretty good spot to get broke w/ 2pair in an unraised pot.

I could imagine folding bottom two here, but I don't think I could ever fold top two.

AZK,

FWIW, I think he will see Axh, 57, 79, and the like more than AA.

El D,

I originally thought the same, but the minraise made me think those hands were less likely.
