Avg VP$IP = 22.2
My Profit after 100 hands = 20BB

Conclusion? High VP$IP is not nesc for PROFIT! (though it does help)

After 5k hands at party, I've played at just a couple 30+ vpip tables.

You just answered your own question.

Party/Empire really tightens up at bonus time. Time of day seems to really matter too - the later I play, the tighter the tables seem to be. I've had much better luck finding good tables in the early afternoon (PT).

I also agree with Saint. I'm usually satisfied at a table with one or two 40+ passives and a LAG on my right. And for clearing bonii, I learned to look for tables with 2-3 fairly aggressive players. They'll generate lots of raked hands.

Another thing: you can't count entirely on PT to find you a loose table. The real loose players usually don't play long enough to get you any kind of stats - they lose their roll fast, then leave and don't come back, while your PT database is likely full of the tighties who multitable every evening.

Anything over 27 and you're good, as long as your seat's okay. You just have to get used to a 2bb/100 winrate rather than 4.

You also have to be comfortable stealing pots from TAAs.

Them too.

You're right though, the TAA's (true ones) are scary guys, and I'm probably 50-50 with these guys or less at 2/4.

Oh, and although it may be entirely irrelevant to the .5/1 discussion, I've been data-mining at Empire for 1/2 (moving up soon), and the four random tables I have open:

35.3
29.97
44.54
47.83

Almost makes me want to jump in right now.

Well I cleared my bonus, 1,863 hands for a net profit of -$1.63.

The $150 bonus makes it worthwhile I guess.

During the clear

AA 2 for 8
KK 3 for 9

Thus the crappitude results.
