If your going to make a move here I would just cr the flop and bet the turn. This isnt a great flop so I would just check fold it.

I'd much rather lead the flop than take your line.

Preflop raise is borderline, but probably correct against someone this aggressive.

Lead the flop. If he raises then call down if the board stays fairly tame. Don't try and make a loose player fold postflop with a tricky move. With a mediocre hand that you want to show down against a player like this, just play passively if he comes at you on the flop. I'd rather you check-call then entire way than try that crazy turn CR against this type of player.

Thanks for the input guys. I have been experimenting with different lines, but I don't really like this one. I thought the flop check would be very suspicious, some players give up easier when I use it...but I agree that betting out is better (as a standard) and getting fancy here does very little for me.

I am assuming by villain's preflop stats that folding too much postflop isn't one of his problems. That said, I play a pure value game against this guy because I don't think he will ever fold a better hand than yours and I would hate to fold Ace high against him on a board this small in a pot this big.

Do you guys think moves are ever correct heads up against a maniac?

Thanks,
Cartman

Almost never IMO. As you said, folding too much isn't their mistake. Value, value, value.

I truly believe that when I stop making plays like this my win rate will increase and my SD will decrease and my graph will be prettier. I haven't reached that state of tiltlessness yet.

This is probably the last player you want to make this move against. If he's aggro I have no problem with checking the flop, but it's with the intention of check/calling to showdown.

I agree 100%. This was a tilt/frustration move, and is the biggest hole in my game at this point.
