Ace-rag suited, do u call preflop raise
this hand really bothers me in a 5 or 6 handed table.
Do you cold call a preflop raise with Ace-x suited? Some people say yes, but i think its a long run money loser. When you hit the flush, its nice, but more often i find myself getting outkickered on a board Ace.... Any advice?

My default play is to fold when the "x" is 7 or smaller when the raiser is UTG or UTG+1. If I'm going to play, I'd prefer to re-raise the opener (so as to get head-to-head if possible), and I'd prefer a kicker that has some chance of holding up if it pairs. The later the position of the opener the more likely I am to call with AXs as chances of the A-high holding up becomes greater (fewer players, plus a larger number of hands without an Ace that the opener might have). Suited aces are good heads up or with many opponents, so generally you shouldn't call. Raise if you think you can get it heads up (and likely to have the pre-flop raiser beat), or fold. You could consider calling if:
1) You don't think raising will get it heads up. 2) You think calling would result in several more callers behind you. 3) Your kicker isn't too bad (a high rag vs. a low one).
