Honestly if you're having trouble with this sort of hand then I think you may be playing over your head. Doing anything other than call down against a LAG with this board and action will be very costly in the longer run.

Sigh, I thought it was standard but after 5 or 6 of these in a row where villain (with 30-40 VP$IP and 2+ aggression) shows me a better hand, I start to question myself.

Well, I think he's going to have you beat like 75% of the time. You have to call down getting those odds but it's also going to produce some runs where he shows you the goods seven or eight times in a row ... that's poker.

At this point, there are 8.33 BB's in the pot. You will have to put in a total of two bets to call the raise and his river bet. 9.33/2 = 4.665/1.

Villain is LAG.

The most important piece of information in your thread. Expect to win this pot more than 18% of the time.

There is also an alternative line that you can take against aggressive opponents on this type of a board. When he checks the turn, check behind him. The risk of giving a free card is not too high. When you're behind, you save a total of 2 bets by not getting checkraised. When you're ahead, you induce a river bluff by demonstrating weakness on the turn, which gains you a bet on a hand that he might have folded on the turn.

This is definately a no brainer hand. 3 betting the turn is reckless and folding is horrible, so do exactly what you did and call him down.
