satellite connection

Hi,
I currently play on 56K dialup. I 4 table and my connection is ok except I cannot surf the internet at the same time, especially party skins, my poker goes crazy lol.

I used to play Multiplayer games and satellite isnt an option due to the increased latency. Would it be ok for poker though?

I don't know for a fact, but I would think that poker shouldn't mind the latency of a sat Dish.

What's the latency (round trip) on your dial up? 100 to 200MS is pretty typical. I don't see why jumping up to 600MS would be a killer on poker apps.

My only question would be do they leave the ports open for poker? Not everything runs over Dish from what I undertand, but again I don't have one so I can't say for sure.
