The correct answers have already been stated. MGS and Zelda OOT are head and shoulders above the rest. FFVIII has the most "satisfying" ending in the series, presumably as a result of people's disappointment with the ending of FFVII. However, the the most satisfying RPG ending belongs to Lunar the Silver Star and it's sequel.

FFX.

I was pretty underwhelmed with the entire ending scene and fight sequence. The ending was as underwhelming as FFIII(which really pissed me off after a really tough final fight sequence).

I do agree that FFVIII's ending was nice. what was the ending to IX, cause I never bothered to finish it in like the 5 times I tried to get through it

The day I handed over control of my guild in Everquest and called Verant/Sony same day and cancelled my account. I felt free like I hadn't felt in a long time. Sweet ending. Said my good byes and poof I was gone. Never to return to such an addictive game that's for damn sure.

Definitely, Tyson is perhaps the hardest thing to beat in all of video games. Orginial Final Fantasy is tight for the NES, and don't forget TMNT 2 for NES or arcade. Beating M. Bison too.
