Only one I don't like is Indy since it doesn't make sense having been taken from Baltimore.

Speaking of Baltimore, I like the Ravens.

There are no lakes in Los Angeles. Too late for a name change now though. They could move back to Minneapolis if things don't work out of course.

Milwaukee Brewers - Makes me think of kicking back and having a few beers at the ballpark.

who are the blackhawks?

[/ QUOTE ]

BlackHawk was an indian tribal leader in Illinois in the 1820s-1832. He was killed in southern illinois by the settlers in the blackhawk war

as far as cool team names, since I'm a ManU fan, I'm very partial to Manchester United and their colors, and their nickname is the red devils, which is real cool too

generally old names are much better than new ones, arizona diamondbacks, are you kidding me?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you are just biased to older names because you have heard them all your life and they sound "right" to you. How else can you explain thinking that Lakers is a good name. It is a leftover name from a previous location that barely made sense then.

Toronto Leafs
Toronto Jays
Toronto Buds (Leaf farm team)

Now if the Raptors changed their name to Blunts, Doobies, or something, then we'd really have a winner.
