Default Standard check-fold?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) converter

Hero ($273.95)
BB ($53)
UTG ($78.85)
UTG+1 ($100)
MP1 ($47.90)
MP2 ($44.05)
CO ($37.85)
Button ($112.75)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP1 calls $1, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, BB calls $3, MP1 calls $3.

Flop: ($12) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $8</font>, BB calls $8, MP1 calls $8.

Turn: ($36) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $25</font>, MP1 folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $61

I was drawing to dead or to two outs against the hand he was representing. I think with the Kd, I bet here and re-evaluate after a raise, but with jsut a pair and no draw, I think the showdown would've been too expensive. The fact that MP1 was still behind BB and that he could've been drawing to a flush tells me that BB would have to be crazy to bluff here. Villain had just sat down a few hands earlier so no reads.

No raed on BB, I think you have to assume that you are beat or only marginally ahead. The only hands that are calling any move you make are beating you it seems. Good laydown

Wow is this bad. Preflop raise more. Bet the turn. If you check the turn, you should just check/raise all in. Don't you know how loose these guys are on the flop? And it doesn't take much for them to bet the turn once you check it.

I like a PFR to $5 here, but $4 isn't unreasonable with only 1 limper.

Don't forget to consider your effective stacksize. On the flop, there are 12BB's in the pot, and everyone has slightly less than 50 behind. Stacks aren't deep enough to get away from this. PSB on the flop, and push next time the action is to you. GL

Raise more pre-flop, bet pot on the flop, and you shouldn't be faced with a hard decision.
