Default Review: Hand 87

HAND 87 :
Preflop: Hero is Button with J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
6 folds, Hero folds

This is a steal attempt for me that can bear a little action. Anybody else fold this uncontested?

I will usually raise here.

Good to see someone getting last minute juice out of the first session post.

I think it's a great idea. Came across this late and after a fresh read of SSH. Steals and drawing odds are some of the more difficult aspects of the game.

Depends on the blinds, the $ of blinds defended by these players in particular, and the game.

I am much more willing to do this in 3/6 than 1/2

It's certainly not an easy raise, but depending on the opponents I raise here too.

Interesting comments on the blind structures impacting the steal. You're right that 3/6 favors tight play so you're more apt to fold out the SB.

Along the similar lines, I might point out that in the context of this session analysis, observant opponents would identify hero as being somewhat weak-passive IMO. The steal from the button would carry more weight for Hero than it would for say, me

Depends on the blinds completely.

I'm raising this pretty much every time. I sure as hell am not going to limp with it. I'm not going to fold it. So I guess that leaves raising it. I can't think of any hand I open limp with on the button.

Cant open limp whit that so it is a raise or fold. If the blinds are thight i'm raising (i also raise this on tilt regardless of the blinds).
