Party 5/10 ... did I miss a bet or two?
I'm on the button with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Checked to me, I raise, SB fold, BB calls Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, BB raises, I reraise, BB calls Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB bets, I raise, BB folds Should I have smooth called the turn and waited for the river to raise? |

Re: Party 5/10 ... did I miss a bet or two?
I don't like the flop 3-bet.
I think smooth calling the turn and raising his river bet is viable, and he's going to keep firing at you if you don't 3-bet him (more likely, anyway). Given that you re-raised him on the flop he is more likely to check the river to you after you call. NT NT |

Why did you 3-bet the flop? Is there a history with this player?

Re: Party 5/10 ... did I miss a bet or two?
No real notes ... one entry about a 44 raise in EP, but nothing else. I sat down at the table, and this was about 4 rotations in, I hadn't played but a handful of hands.

Re: Party 5/10 ... did I miss a bet or two?
QJx is so likely to have hit your opponent that there's absolutely no reason to 3-bet the flop. I wouldn't steal-raise suited connectors if you're going to overplay them so badly like you did here.

Re: Party 5/10 ... did I miss a bet or two?
Anyone fold to the checkraise? I know it's heads up, but the pot is fairly small and hero is drawing to 5 outs (if that) or the runner runner straight if the opponent hit one of the 2 overcards.
Any thoughts on this? Haupt_234 |

I was gonna ask the same thing. I'd fold to the checkraise myself too. What do others think?
