Default Possibly an FAQ... How good is good in MTT?

Although I don't quite have a big enough sample size for statistical comparison, I am managing to stay ahead of the rake in SNG tourneys, and I read the FAQ that suggests that talks about the 40% ROI best case for SNGs.

In MTTs, I have been consistently in the top half, usually at least in the top third, but I've been in the money only a handfull of times, with one win.

How often do top players make the cut? How can I compare my results to them to see where I can improve?

MTTs are such high variance, I doubt there are many players with a statistically significant sample size. If SNG players need 1000 data points to have a decent sense of their numbers, then MTT players must need an order of magnitude more. That being said, I've read that top players have an expectation of 4x to 6x the buy-in of a MTT. That would mean a ROI of 400-600%. I don't know what the ITM% would be.

Not sure who you're replying to. 40% ROI has been thrown around as a possibly sustainable ROI for outstanding players in small ($5+.50 or $10+1) SNGs.

This is the wrong forum for SNG ROI talk, and this has been discussed in this forum many times.

Read the original post. I wasn't asking about SNG ROI, merely mentioning that I had already read the 40% number in the SNG FAQ. I was asking about MTTs, which, oddly enough, is why I asked here.

Sheesh.
