Default 50NL QQ river weakness?

villain 68/15/.32 over only 19 hands and no reads.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Button ($50.70)
SB ($31.55)
Hero ($62.16)
UTG ($11.15)
MP ($72.33)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
2 folds, Button calls $0.50, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $2.5, Button calls $2.50, SB folds.

Flop: ($6.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $6, Button calls $6.

Turn: ($18.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $14, Button calls $14.

River: ($46.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: $46.50

was the check here too weak?

should i have come out firing again, or would have only hands that beat me call?

would a blocking bet be the best line here?

need some fix as i'm trying to tweak parts of my game - i am horrible at pot control when i'm not sure if i'm that much ahead in the hand =\

I think a check is fine......if you make a small blocker he might raise it and bluff the scare card...the most reasonable hand for him to be calling down with just got there, I think checking and calling a smallish bet is ok. If he pushes, then you have a decision to make.

Being out of position here causes an uncomfortable situation. Next time, I advise posting the river action in this situation as Hero checks, ignoring what Button does. As played it looks fairly obvious that villian had a 10. (edited in : AFTER we see he checks behind)

One play I like quite a lot is screwing balling the turn (that is check raising). It makes your initial bet look like a continuation bet. The problem is when he checks behind with a draw.

On the river you have $30 left. I would bet $15 and call a push.

Kathleen?

You'd lead the river and call a push after that club hit? Calling a push there sounds like really bad poker to me. Villain's action can only be 2 things, he's got a 10, or he's got clubs.....I don't think a 10 pushes to the $15 river bet but I guarantee you that the flush does. If you lead for $15 and he pushes over the top, you've gotta fold...assuming the push is a meaningful amount and not $5 more or something. You cannot make money at these limits calling all-ins on the river with 1 pair absent a rock-solid read that's he's a complete maniac.

This play needs the right board and the right villian. Hero has no reads on villian and this is a bad board for that play.

I might put in a $10 blocker.

Entire hand looks good to me, With the way you betting and punishing a draw I can tell you put him on clubs. So being caution on the river when I club came is not weak, It's sticking with your read.
