Review: Hand 5 and 32
PartyPoker - $0.50/$1 Texas - 10 players (Converter: PGC)
SB is 25/0/- (4) BB is 25/0/- (4) UTG is 50/0/0.0 (4) Hero is LP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] PreFlop UTG Calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, Hero Calls, CO folds, Button folds SB Calls, BB checks (4 players) FLOP: 2 9 A (rainbow)( Pot Size: 2.00 BB ) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks Am I the only one who wants to raise this up from the hijack? I'll probably get the BB and UTG, can bet the flop representing the A, and can check the turn depending on the results. I think being aggresive here could have taken this hand. Edit: Hand 32, folded to hero w/ A6. I usually raise this, unless BOTH blinds will definately call. |

Re: Review: Hand 5
Raise preflop for sure. Bet the flop either way. People are giving you credit for the ace here a lot of the time.

Re: Review: Hand 5 and 32
i'd raise PF and bet this flop (if I raised PF).
as is, I think with this pot size, unknown oppoenents, its a wash to bet or check the flop. i don't terrible mind either, but a bd flush draw would be nice to have before betting. |

i'd raise PF and bet this flop (if I raised PF). [/ QUOTE ] really? i gotta work on that. i guess this is because it is suited and we're in late position and want a big pot if we hit, possible pot steal (ie this one), or get a free card if it is pretty bad? i like closer suited cards, but i'm open to learning something new. i hate KT because i'll inevatably flop a draw of some kind or QTx or something and pay a lot with a weak hand... |

[/ QUOTE ] obviously a ridiculously small sample size, but we might be dealing with tight(er) blinds. getting HU with position with KTs is an excellent proposition. a PFR would not be a pot building move. you want the blinds to fold.. and i'd be willing to make a continuation flop bet on a wide range of flops.. so free card consideration isn't too high on the list either. |

Re: Review: Hand 5 and 32
Yeah raising with K10s here is money. You likely have an equity edge, and will still get respect for a big hand b/c you are raising after a limper. This gives you bluff outs as well. If you had raised here PF and noone had an ace, you take this pot down over half the time with a flop bet. This changes if the blinds are super-donks.
