-learn to play poker
-find out why diet dr pepper tastes just like regular DP. seriously, how DO they do that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Only like 5 guys on the forum know how to play poker, and I'm not one of them.

I'd therefore focus more heavily on the second goal.

4. Finish building up 300BB br on .5/1 so I can move up to 1/2.
5. Post on here a lot, becuase I won't be able to play much this month (demobilizing).

[/ QUOTE ]

4: you mean 600bb at 0.5/1 and 300bb at 1/2 right?

5: ooc, what is "demobilizing" and any details you can give about that would be good... I'm curious if it basically just means light duty so that they don't send a whole ton of stressed people back to america where they'll hit the bars and get in fights.

SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 7d 8d (two pair, sixes and threes).
Hero has Qs Tc (two pair, sixes and threes).
Outcome: Hero wins 7.50 BB.

Read-dependent, I think you just dishonoured the entire city of sandiego by betting that river.

It may not be THAT bad though... seriously, I'd suggest giving this hand it's own thread... that's very strange river play.

2. Beat a 6 max game (?1/2) over at least 5k hands (hopefully 10k)

[/ QUOTE ]

Bad idea dude, you may not win in 5k hands. A better goal would be to be a winning player in that length of hands, which is much more manageable.

first setback - get stacked (200bb) AQsAKs vs KK74o allin preflop in $50 PLO. Gotta love losing 80/20's for an eighth of your roll.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe do the $25 tables instead? I don't know, I'm not used to NLHE, but 10-15x buy in seems more reasonable than 8x.

Re-Edit: Finish Chronicles of Narnia. God damn that guy's an amazing story-teller!

Great story. Of course, I read it, uh, almost 20 years ago, now. Yikes.

I'll hash SSHE with you. Let me know where you're starting, and PM me your email.

well, it's just been made very clear to me exactly how badly I suck at six-max.

New goal: drop back down to .50/1 and at least figure out what the hell I'm doing there. Even getting the default preflop stuff down would be a vast improvement over where I am now.

Hmm, I saw a Guruman-like name on Empire tonight and I went to sit somewhere else. Maybe I should have chosen your table after all.

Uhhh, that's what I meant. Besides it is now October, not September.
