I feel that this article is an over-reation to how peoples' lives are changing because of the internet.

I disagree with this, especially after seeing so many "I'd rather play poker than be with my gf/hang with my friends/go to parties/leave my room/etc." posts on 2+2. Maybe the issue is actually more gambling addiction than internet addiction. But still, it's a lot easier to become addicted to gambling when it is available 365/24/7 from your living room couch.

The real question, I think, for winning players, is can you have a problematic addiction to online poker even while you're making money? I say yes, but I'd be interested to hear arguments to the contrary.

There have been lots of threads on this. Dr. Al seems to think "Yes," not unexpectedly. Others disagree. Hilarity ensues.
