I think this is an ok play as long as you sometimes do it with a legitmate hand.

Like sometimes when heads up I will check behind AQ on this flop and go for a turn raise to set up plays like this in the future if I am against an observing opponent. If the player doesnt pay much attention I think it is spewing because he is calling down any pair here I would think.
