Default Bankroll question

How is bankroll affected by the number of tables you play? Does a person who plays many tables have a higher varience?

Playin more tables is just liking playin one table longer

ex. 4 hours of 4 tabling 1600 hands
16 hours of 1 tabling 1600 hands

Therefore br requirements are the same for both, 300BB for limit or 20-30 buyins, NL

Variance isn't reall affected with number of tables you play. You will play more hands an hour so you could lose more, but that is mitigiated by the fact you will have a larger sample size in a shorter period of time. It's still about 300-500 BB.

If you maintain a constant win rate playing 1 table or 4 tables, variance is the same. However, variance will SEEM to lessen, because you get more hands in per hour. HOWEVER, in reality your winrate typically goes down as you add more tables, so your variance goes up. HOWEVER, your variance will seem to go down per hour of playing b/c you get in so many more hands per each table.

Doesn't require more BR but you can reduce variance with approx. the same earn rate for example; you normally play (1) 4/8 game and now you play (2) 2/4 games.

Thanks...thats what I was thinking, but wasnt sure. I think I just notice more varience because the level of my play is worse.

Are you sure about this? Aren't the winrate and variance independent statistical values?

I would think he/she is implying that the net win rate goes down. This may mean -100, -50, +25, +200. ==> Higher variance

Umm guys, variance is additive. It does change.
