Default Soft Games a Fad?

Hi All,

There are a lot of people here that make 3BB/100 playing 10/20 or 15/30 online. My question is, will these games always be this soft, or is it because of the huge poker trend/fad that is starting? Is there anyone here that has been playing online for 5-10 years? I'd love to here any comments you have.

Thanks.

i have not heard anybody say 3bb/100 at 15-30. games have gotten a little tighter the last few months, but i think it can only go so far. also, i dont think online poker has been around 10 yrs.

I've heard a couple people say 3BB/100h, for a stretch of about 20,000 hands -- tho I don't know if this was long-term or not. I'd search, but... point is, it's not entirely outside the realm of reason.

You guys need to stop thinking that 3BB/100 is some astronomical figure for online play. A decent B&M player can make 1BB/hr (with about 30 to 35 hands being dealt per hour). This translates to 3BB/100 hands.

Fudgenut,

Yes those win rates are presently attainable.

I suspect that the online games have 1+ years tops left before they start to get more difficult than they presently are.

Welcome to the forums.

i could see a really good player doing 3bb/hr over 20k hands. i would think the variance would be huge at a level that high. then again, i have heard that there are some huge fish that just have too much money playing up there.

ha, i thought you were calling me fudgenut. then i realized that the first poster's name was fudgenut. i know that good (but not great) players can make 1bb/hr in b+m play at 15-30. but i thought play was much tougher online, given the same limit. does 15-30 not follow this trend? is it an outlier simply because all of the rich superfish go there first?

Isn't the rake lower online too? Making it easier to get that number without taking as much from the players per hour?

I think 3bb/100 is possible on teh party 15 game for a good player. I'm not there, nor am I that great. I also play 4 tables at once. THat's gotta make the bb/100 lower. Then again by playing so much I have reads on a lot of the players from poker tracker or just written notes cause I've played with most of them.
