Default Folding top set on turn...

This is from the Pacific 10k gaur., so no HH. Please forgive.

Blinds are 50-100. Relevant stacks are UTG at 3k, myself at 4.5k and BB at 2k. I'm in the small blind with Q9.

UGT limps, I complete, BB checks. Flop is 24Q with no flush. I'm pretty sure I should have led or check-raised but instead I checked, BB bet 100, UTG called, and I called. Flop was another Q. I bet 400 into the 600 chip pot, BB pushes for 1.5k more and UTG folds.

Per the subject line, I folded.

Think you have to call. Since you didn't bet the flop (and everyone almost always bets top pair for value) your opponent probably doesn't think you have a Queen. He could be making this move with a ton of hands... inlcuding bottom pair A-kickie...

Call... if he shows you a boat... oh well.

I don't think you're against AQ or KQ as it was a 3 way limped pot.

In a manner of speaking, this isn't "top set"...
...but I think there are WAY too many hands you're ahead of to fold this. Queens with worse kickers as well as some mid pairs make this move.

I'm pretty surprised at myself for folding this. It felt like the right move for some reason though. I think a large part of this is that I feel like I've been making too many loose calls lately. My stack was well above average at the time and still would have been if I folded.

I think I might need to take a few days off. I think I'm making bad folds now on top of bad calls.

On the upside, I got my status upgraded to 'old hand' during this tournament, so that makes me feel a bit better about things.

This shouldn't be a factor nearly as much as the likelihood that you're ahead, which is high.

If you had a feeling you were beaten, go with it, but don't justify it this way, or you'll start passing up good situations whenever your stack gets a little ahead of the game.

Instacall. He could have any two on the BB. You are 45% against his hand if he has ONLY a Q or a full house. I think his range includes alot of other hands like 55++.

You are getting 2.7:1 in the pot and need to be 26% in the hand.
