Default The button three-handed versus full-table

Here is a question that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, but it sparked debate at my home game.

Is the button (or any position for that matter) more, less, or equally likely to have a good hand in a three-handed versus ten-handed game?

I think that the distribution of cards should be normal, and that the likelihood of the button waking up with AA is the same in a full ring as it is in three-handed play.

So basically, the absolute value of the hand should be no different, but the relative value changes as the game gets shorter-handed and more people fold in front (e.g. position, position, position).

I'm right, right?

You have the exact same chance to get AA with 3 players as you do with 10 players.. (1/13)(3/51)=1/221
