Default 5/10 NL @ The Wynn

Preety passive preflop game with big stacks trying to bust each other

I limp UTG+1 with KcJc, folded to MP who makes it 40, MP+1 calls folded to me i call

flop is J53 with 2 diamonds, i check, mp checks, MP+1 bets 60, i raise to 200, MP(PF Raiser) folds, MP+1 thinks and calls

turn (pot 535) T non diamond
I bet 400, opponent grimaces, picks up his cards in that verticle "almost gonna muck them" manner and finally just calls

river 2d
i check, villian bets 280, i think and fold

How could you fold with the odds you were getting?

I like your play until the river. You made an almost pot sized bet on the turn and then checked on the river. Checking to induce a bluff is powerful. Betting on the
river makes no sense if you would fold if raised, but simply put I don't understand why you folded on the river.
It's impossible in this spot to put your opponent on a flush or a better king.

Some missing things that might be important, my opponent had less than 600 left when he made this river bet, also he seemed to be attempting to play well but was not really a good player, he was showing alot of his hands, and showed this one at the river when i folded, results later

I'm not sure what you want from this post. Either you had no read and played the hand somewhat poorly, or you had some big read on the turn/river/whenever and acted accordingly. What exactly is there to discuss?

I'm wondering if anyone else calls here, maybe i interpreted the way he acted on the turn wrong, maybe someone can think of a hand he bets here i'm beating that makes calling correct

It's close to impossible to examine a read without having actually seen the hand be played out; you are the best judge of your read. Since he showed his hand, you can figure out how reliable your read was right then and there.

If however this hand was played without any reads, I would have bet 600 on the river.

agreed, all worse hands fold to this bet, unless your opponent is an ATM
