Default Hey Conjelco,

The 1980's called. They want their servers back.

Please use some of your ad and book sales revenue to make the site run faster.

We know this is an ad supported site, and this thread will be deleted. But I would much prefer to pay for the site or make a donation then put up with these 2 minute load times. It's a real annoyance and the worst part is that with proper servers it is totally unnecessary.

Still looong delays at times, for the HTML data itself, not images.

it won't get deleted.

last weeks was deleted because people were posting specific ways to null the banners. as long as you guys don't turn a thread into a tech lesson on beating the advertisers, no one will delete the thread.

the banners are the ONLY source of revenue in this forum. if i owned the forum, i would have deleted that particular thread too.

all this being said, they are changing servers this week coming.

NOBODY is happy when it lags, but please use some sense when threads turn into ways to block their revenue.

example...

if there were threads here all the time that explained how and where to get software and browsers to eliminate all the banners, then the people who buy the banners will not renew and then what? mason gonna host this place free??

HA! he has not even kicked in $40 for my seat.

Ty, from now on every day is my birthday

Sorry if my first post was too harsh, this afternoon was just especially bad for browsing the forums. I can put up with some lag, and don't expect free forums to be absolutely perfect (even though the forums are free, I know they are still making some good money off of them, I think Granny alone pays a small fortune), and do appreciate what we have here.

you are correct that the only solution would be to *not* make it free anymore if the banners are no longer seen by 90% of the members.

your response was ok and starting this thread was ok. so was yoda's. i don't blame you guys, but i just wanted to defend the mods. people think it was deleted because it mentioned performance. i just wanted to clear it up.

yes, these guys run a tight forum, but they are not about to delete threads because someone claimed it was laggy.

it WAS laggy that day. it sucked.

good news is that they are fixing it tho. but if a friend is moaning, everone should PM the friend and tell him how to beat the banner. putting it in the open is not right imo because this place is 100% advertiser supported.

100% ad supported? the main purpose of this forum is to help them sell books is it not?

Having ads on the site is fine. The way they do it is hurting though.
